The Extensión de Sar is a satellite school of Santiago de Compostela Official School of Languages (EOI)
IES de Sar |
The Extensión de Sar is located in the centre of the
city, just 1,200 metres from Santiago de Compostela’s best known landmark,
Saint James’s Cathedral.
The Escolas Oficiais de Idiomas (Official Schools of
Languages) are a national network of
public educational institutions specialized in teaching foreign languages to
young learners and adults, integrated in the Spanish Education System as
Specialised Education. Spain is one of the few countries in the EU offering
this kind of public education and issuing official certificates for it. At our
school we offer general courses in English that cover different levels in the
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): A1, A2, B1, and
B2.
CEFR Levels |
We also provide three English courses to education
professionals who are willing to implement CLIL methodology in their teaching
practice. Our school started running in September 2007, and it has grown since
then, having nearly 600 students and 8 teachers at the moment. We aim to
promote multilingual skills among the adult population, as a way of enhancing
European cohesion and new opportunities for mobility and employability.
