Next destination: Eden, Holland

Hi everyone!

Hope you have enjoyed Easter holidays and that you have recharged your batteries for the coming months! This last term opens with a postcard sent to Holland, more specifically to Eden, a town located in the centre of the country, 1470 km away!

We hope our friend Cees will like this postcard of Praterías Square and the beautiful Baroque façade of the Casa do Cabildo.

Luis, an intermediate 2 student, has written a brief text describing this gem of a building. You can read about it in DISCOVER SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA. Thanks, Luis!

Discover Santiago de Compostela VI: Praterías Square

The Praza das Praterías (Silver Jewels Square) is a monumental square and melting pot of architectural styles at the heart of Santiago's Old Town. Here you will be able to see the South façade of the Cathedral, which is Romanesque as well as the façade of its Renaissance cloister. The fountain of the horses in the middle of the square is Baroque (1825)

The Praza das Praterías was named after the many silversmiths who have had their workshops here since the 17th century.

Postcard 6 is travelling to Southampton!

Postcard 6 has been sent to Southampton, in the United Kingdom, 1043 kilometres away!

This time it was an advanced 1 student, Lucía Picado, who was in charge of writing the postcard.

Hope Kristyna likes our postcard, which features one of Santiago's most impressive squares, Praza das Praterías!

Lucía has done some research and has discovered very interesting facts about Southampton. You can read her text in our section EXPLORING THE WORLD. If you want to know more about Praza das Praterías, go to DISCOVER SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA.

Thank you, Lucía!!
